
Hike times are staggered so that everyone will be back at the
Red Barn in time for the after-hike party with great food and beverages,
door prizes, awards for top-fundraisers, and music.
Starting from the Nott Creek Trailhead this trail has beautiful views of forested mountainsides, several creek crossings on small wooden bridges, and a backcountry shelter. Traveling through a streamside area, the willow and alder are great habitat for a variety of songbirds, as well as a showcase for fall colors. The trail includes a variety of gradual ups and downs. The easy hiking groups may stop often to observe and learn about nature.
This trail is wheelchair accessible and wraps around a pond with great nature information. The Visitor Center also features great displays about the natural and cultural history of the area.
Starting at Nott Creek Trailhead, moderate hikes have a variety of loop options on the Burro and Mountain Lion trails. Hikes travel through a variety of ecosystems, including lodge pole pine forest, several bridged creek crossings, large boulders, and an option to take a 1⁄2 mile spur trail to the top of Windy Peak.
The difficult hikes have a variety of terrain with up and down through rocky sections and great vistas along the way.
